As we enter our 4th year of holding regular changing exhibitions we have taken the opportunity to focus on showcasing local Brighton artists that have successfully sold pieces through us in the past. With over 50 pieces of work from 9 Brighton based artists a variety of styles are featured.  The exhibition will run until the end of January 2008. 

  The pieces are all especially picked to complement the hotels contemporary and stylish appeal. The contrasting works are spread throughout the hotels recently modernised interior with each of the eight guest accommodation ensuite rooms featuring the work of a different artist carefully chosen to suit it's style.

In a continuation from her first exhibition Christie Riggs cropped pictures of dancers in Prague brings impact to the blue-grey lounge, with its period features and custom-made furniture. In the breakfast area Roberto Salazart's manipulated images of Brighton spark a desire to get out and about in the local area.

The hotel's feature 4 poster bedroom displays original sketches of local sports stars by Jan Irvine whilst Paula Fash's photographs of skateboarders continue the sporty theme in one of the other large bedrooms. The other feature room showcases Martin Rolt's acrylic paintings.

Karren Urben's bold paintings of local drag star Masie Trollette line the corridor walls and for contrast in style look out for work from Troy Ohlson a local award winning artist.

Affordable prints from the ever popular Nigel Hammond and Ruth Thomas complete the line up.

The variety of art promises something to appeal to everyone.

 

All the art is available for guests to purchase with no fee or commission taken by the hotel. 

Most artists will accept private commissions, please ask for more details.
